Chih-Pei Chang, Navy Post-graduate School
Distinguished
Professor of Meteorology at U. S. Naval Postgraduate School, and National
Science Council Chair Professor at Department of Atmospheric Sciences, National
Taiwan University. His research interests are in tropical meteorology,
monsoon meteorology, and climate dynamics. He currently serves as Chair of the Monsoon
Panel of the World Meteorological Organization Working Group on Tropical
Meteorology Research, Chair of the Editorial Board of World Scientific Series
on Asia-Pacific Weather and Climate, and Co-Chair of the Scientific Advisory
Committee of the APEC Research Centre
for Typhoon and Society. He is a recipient of the Mesinger Award and a Fellow
of the American Meteorological Society. He has edited
nine books including Monsoon Meteorology
(1987, with T. Krishnamurti), East Asia
and Western Pacific Meteorology and Climate (2000, with B. Jou, C.Y. Lam,
and GX. Wu), East Asian Monsoon
(2004), Global Monsoon System: Research
and Forecast (2005 and 2011, with YH. Ding, R. Johnson, N.C. Lau, B. Wang,
and T. Yasunari), and Climate Change: Multidecadal and Beyond (2013, with M.
Ghil, M. Latif, and J.M. Wallace).
