COAA-NOAA New Year Lunch Party 2015
On Feb. 20, 2015, COAA and NOAA Chinese American Association (NOAA CAA) successfully held a buffet luncheon party to celebrate Chinese New Year at NOAA's Science Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. NOAA-CAA president, Ms. Chang Zhao, and COAA president, Dr. Jin Huang, warmly welcomed everyone and briefly introduced the two organizations. The CEOs of the two sponsoring companies, Dr. Jingli Yang of ERT Corp. and Dr. Ming (Mike) Jing of Cyberdata Technologies, Inc. also extended their best wishes for the Year of Horse to everyone attending the event.
More than 150 guests gathered in the NOAA Science Center to enjoy the delicious Chinese food, to meet old friends, and to make new ones. The two-hour long celebration was accompanied by traditional Chinese music, prized riddles, and warm exchange of New Year's greetings.
This is the first year that COAA joined NOAA-CAA in organizing this well-received annual event to celebrate the most important Chinese holiday. It marked a good beginning to much more coordination between the two organizations in the future. Besides Jin Huang's speech, we also distributed COAA flyers at the event to raise COAA's visibility. We also would like to congratulate COAA secretary, Dr. Jingfeng Huang, who won prizes by solving several very challenging riddles!
